Minutes of Killybegs Community Council Public Meeting - 10th July 2013

Tourism College – Four members agreed to go to speak to members of Board of Governors of LYIT as they arrived for a meeting re the moving of School of Tourism to Letterkenny.. Politicians to be asked to go as well.

Killybegs Community Hospital – A member, who is on the consumer panel of Killybegs Community hospital, learned at a meeting that it is proposed to increase the long stay beds in the hospital to 13.    Also the physio hours have been reduced from 70 hrs to 46. It was proposed to write to HSE re the bed situation and see what their intentions are and also to find out if physio hrs are being restored.

 At this stage of the meeting, John O'Shea, from Care Direct 24/7, gave a very interesting talk and demonstrated various alarms systems and devices that would be of benefit to the elderly.

Co Council WEEE – Information received that Donegal Co Council are organising a recycling day at Shore Rd car park on 24th Aug from 10 am to 4 pm of anything household with a plug or battery

Signage – it was stated that several signs around the town have to be changed and the relevant Co Council officials and Bord Failte to be emailed re this.

Re work at graveyard – Repairs to the wall at the old St Catherine’s graveyard to be carried out shortly. A Church gate collection to pay for same was organised by the History and Heritage committee.

Fintra car park: A discussion was held re the extending of car park at Fintra beach. This to be looked in to.
