Cllr. Danny Byrne from Bruckless who has been appointed a Commissioner of Irish Lights.

Congratulations to Cllr. Danny Byrne from Bruckless who has been appointed a Commissioner of Irish Lights. Danny's late Grandfather Jim and Granduncle Paddy were both lighthouse keepers, the latter serving for almost 50 years.

Speaking to Killybegsonline, Danny said " this is a very exciting appointment for, given my family history relating to the lighthouse at St Johns Point. In the over 200 year old history I am probably the only Commissioner from Donegal

and having that family connection is extra special. I look forward to my first inspection of lighthouses as a Commissioner and I hope Donegal is on the list ! "
