“2020 Vision: Back to the Future in Killybegs”

“2020 Vision: Back to the Future in Killybegs”

A burial with a difference took place in Killybegs on Friday 9th February 1996. As part of a European initiative organised by the Department of Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht, the 5th Class pupils in the Niall Mór N.S. researched their town as it was in 1970 and 1995 but also predicted what life would be in the year 2020. They then buried their project in a special time capsule.

We are now in the year 2020 and the time has arrived to dig up the time capsule! On Saturday 22nd February, the 5th class pupils will reunite to do so. Following the dig, the contents of the capsule will be on public display in the Bay View Hotel from 5pm – 7.30pm.

This is a summary of information the 38 pupils put into the project and will surely be of interest to many people from Killybegs and surrounding areas so we look forward to seeing you!
