The Coronavirus Pandemic: New DirectivesFollowing the Governments directive and norms outlined for the Diocese of Raphoe, new arrangements are in place with immediate effect. Dealing with the Coronavirus threat is a source of worry for all of us. It is a moment for us to be in prayerful solidarity with each other. It is, in fact, a time when prayer and our reliance on God is more important then ever. We remember that the Lord will never abandon his people. It will be important that we look out for each other and especially the most vulnerable. We remember people who may need support; maybe someone to do the shopping for them. A phone call could make a huge difference to someone who feels the need to be in isolation for their own protection’. (Bishop Alan)All Masses with congregations, Sunday, Holyday and Weekday, are cancelled until 29th March. Everyone is dispensed from the Sunday obligation until then. Masses will be celebrated behind closed doors at the usual times and will be streamed live: go to the parish website: to get a link (or go to This means the church will be closed during the celebration of Masses. Thats a restriction we have to live with for everyones wellbeing. The church will open after morning Masses; the church will close one hour before evening Masses. Otherwise the church will be open throughout the day and you are encouraged to go in and to pray.There will be no Adoration for the time being. Confirmation is postponed until further notice. Special arrangements will be made for weddings funerals and baptisms. We ask that only the immediate family attend. In keeping with Government guidelines it must be less than 100 people. It is important that people be discouraged from travelling to funerals at this time. The Parish Newsletter will be available in the church and online as usual. Its vitally important that we take every precaution to protect ourselves and others from the Coronavirus and to pray especially for those who are working in the frontline in the service of others
