The Sacrament of First Holy Communion Congratulations


The Sacrament of First Holy Communion Congratulations to the 41 young people who celebrated their First Holy Communion last Saturday. It was a very special occasion, which necessitated four celebrations, because of the pandemic restrictions. We are grateful to all the children who played an active part in the celebrations and who were also actively involved in the preparation at school and in the parish until Covid lockdown intervened. Thank you for your patience and may God continue to bless you and your families. Our thanks to everyone for their help and cooperation especially parents, all the teachers, special needs assistants & the school secretaries for their invaluable help. Thanks to Ann, Parish Secretary, for all the coordination, Patricia, the Parish Sacristan, for looking after the details of the liturgy, thanks to all the stewards, sanitizers, Margaret Conneely for the refreshments and all who helped. Thanks to chief photographer John McConnell and also to Plunkett & Matty Smith for their assistance. Special thanks to Roisín O’Donnell for the lovely portraits of all the children, which the children will surely treasure. Roisín was also responsible for the singing, along with her sister Sara.

We reproduce Roisín’s business card -she has just completed her Graphic Design degree in the National College of Art & Design in Dublin, having already achieved a degree in Fine Art. We wish her well. We include a special blessing above for all schoolchildren.
